For Island Records founder Chris Blackwell's legendary Jamaica property GoldenEye in Oracabessa, St. Mary -- the birthplace of James Bond -- we invented a new visual vocabulary that pays homage to local culture: sign painting, record covers, street art, wooden carvings and the brilliant patterning of designers like Mary Vinson whose textile work references motifs from West Africa, mud cloth from Mali and "tritiks" from Nigeria. The rich cultural mix inspires our own hand drawn vernacular, celebrating Chris's love of Jamaica, its people and the music.
